Incumbent Republican Scott Fitzgerald holds Wisconsin's 5th congressional district, which carries an R+11 Cook Partisan Voter Index and has been rated Solid or Safe Republican by major forecasters. Fitzgerald won reelection in 2024 with 64 percent of the vote and maintains a substantial fundraising lead heading into the 2026 cycle. Democratic primary candidates Andrew Beck and Ben Steinhoff face an uphill path in a district that includes northern and western Milwaukee suburbs along with Washington, Jefferson, and most of Waukesha counties. With primaries set for August 2026 and the general election on November 3, no major polling shifts, candidate withdrawals, or national developments have altered the district's baseline partisan advantage in recent months.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
