Recent National Weather Service and GFS model guidance indicates a minimum temperature near 65°F for Los Angeles on September 17, driven by a persistent marine layer with overnight lows in the mid-60s amid light southwest winds and patchy fog or low clouds. This setup aligns with typical early-fall climatology, where coastal moderation prevents sharp radiational cooling. Trader sentiment, however, centers on the 68-69°F bin as the leading outcome, reflecting recent observed minima running 1–3°F above model consensus and limited expected intensification of onshore flow. Key resolution hinges on the official daily low at the primary reporting station, with fresh model runs and evening observations on September 16 poised to refine probabilities ahead of the overnight period.
