OpenAI's private valuation hit $852 billion post-money following its record $122 billion funding round closed on March 31, 2026—the largest ever—fueled by surging enterprise demand for ChatGPT and AI models amid $25 billion annualized revenue run-rate estimates. Trader consensus prices in this mega-valuation for a potential Q4 IPO, but early April reports highlighted CFO Sarah Friar's internal pushback on CEO Sam Altman's aggressive timeline, citing $121 billion projected 2028 compute costs and revenue deceleration risks. Retail investor access is planned via reserved IPO shares after $3 billion individual demand in the latest raise. Watch for H2 S-1 filing and SEC review as pivotal catalysts shaping public market cap realization.
