This stems from the recent onset of inter-monsoon conditions announced in the latest fortnightly outlook for April 1–15, which anticipates wetter weather with afternoon convection suppressing temperatures via cloud cover and evaporative cooling, often capping observed highs below 33°C despite model guidance of 33–35°C. April climatology supports this, with historical daily maxima averaging 31–32°C at Changi Airport; new observational data and forecast refinements expected later April 3 could shift odds further.
