Forecast models from agencies including MetService and international ensembles indicate a mild spring day in Wellington on September 18, with northerly winds advecting warmer air and skies clearing after overnight rain. High temperatures are projected near 14°C, aligning closely with the September climatological average of roughly 12.5–14°C, though localized warming or brief sunny intervals could push readings to 15°C. Trader consensus heavily favors 15°C (65.5% implied probability) over 14°C (18.5%), reflecting model spread and the potential for peak afternoon readings to exceed the base forecast amid variable coastal influences. Lower odds for 16°C or below 14°C capture uncertainty in exact maximum timing and measurement location. Updated model runs and official briefings remain the key near-term catalysts.
