Recent National Weather Service and model guidance points to a Friday high near 68–69 °F in San Francisco, driven by a strengthening marine layer and persistent southwest onshore flow that advects cooler Pacific air across the region. This pattern, reinforced by a broad Pacific high, limits daytime heating compared with the recent hot spell that produced 85–94 °F readings earlier in the week. Ensemble forecasts show modest spread around the mid-to-upper 60s, with small differences in cloud cover and wind strength able to shift the daily maximum by a degree or two. Historical September averages near 70–71 °F provide context, yet the current setup favors the lower end of the distribution and explains why market-implied odds cluster tightly between the upper 60s and low 70s.
