The tight trader consensus around 50% for multiple candidates in Groulx reflects the riding's status as a toss-up between the incumbent CAQ's Eric Girard and the PQ's Marie-Claude Sarrazin, with Liberals and Québec solidaire also fielding contenders. Recent developments, including the August 27 writ drop for the October 5 provincial election and the PQ's late-August nomination of a former Gallant commission prosecutor, have intensified competition in this Laurentides seat that flipped toward the CAQ in 2018 and 2022. Provincial polling volatility between the two leading parties, combined with the nomination deadline still weeks away, sustains uncertainty over which candidate can consolidate support in a fragmented field.
