The tight race in Laurier-Dorion reflects Québec solidaire incumbent Andrés Fontecilla's established local base in this Montreal riding against a competitive Liberal challenger in Randy Legault-Rankin, amid a broader provincial contest scheduled for October 5. Recent candidate nominations and the campaign launch have highlighted shared priorities such as housing affordability, immigration integration, and public services, with projections showing QS and Liberal support within a few points. Limited polling granularity at the riding level, combined with the open nomination window until September 17, sustains uncertainty among traders. Developments like party leader visibility in the district, shifts in voter turnout among key blocs, or late policy contrasts on cost-of-living measures could widen the gap before election day.
