The La Prairie riding remains closely contested ahead of the October 5 Quebec provincial election because the open seat—previously held by a CAQ incumbent who is not seeking re-election—overlaps with a tight province-wide race. Recent polls show the PQ leading at 28-30% and the CAQ at 24-27%, with both parties competitive in Montreal suburbs. CAQ candidate Pierre Guillot-Hurtubise benefits from the riding's historical CAQ support on the new electoral map, while PQ's Frédéric Côté, Liberal Sonia Ziadé, and QS's Francine van Winden draw from shifting francophone and suburban voter blocs. Low liquidity and the early campaign stage keep trader consensus balanced near 50% across several names. Developments that could create separation include further provincial polling shifts, candidate debates, turnout patterns among francophones, or late endorsements before the September 17 nomination deadline.
