Current National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance points to clear skies and light northerly winds over Atlanta on September 14, supporting overnight radiative cooling that favors a minimum in the low 70s. Elevated dew points near 70 °F from recent moisture will moderate the drop by limiting how far temperatures can fall before reaching saturation, while minimal cloud cover and calm surface winds reduce turbulent mixing that might otherwise keep readings higher. Historical September averages near 66 °F provide context for the above-normal outcome, though small shifts in timing of any residual moisture or wind could adjust the exact low by a degree or two before resolution.
