Recent ensemble forecasts from models including ECMWF and GFS show variable overnight conditions for Wellington on September 14, with predicted lows clustering around 7–9°C amid northerly winds and partial cloud cover that limit radiative cooling. These align closely with long-term September climatology, where average minimums reach about 8°C, yet small shifts in wind direction, humidity, or clearing skies could push readings lower or sustain milder values near 10°C. Trader consensus across tightly bunched outcomes reflects this genuine forecast spread and the limited time until resolution, with fresh model runs and official MetService updates expected to refine probabilities ahead of the overnight minimum.
