Polymarket traders price a 91.5% implied probability on "No" for Costco raising its iconic $1.50 hot dog combo price before 2027, reflecting strong conviction anchored in CEO Ron Vachris's March 2026 viral pledge that "the price will not change as long as I'm around." This aligns with 41 years of pricing stability since 1985, a deliberate loss-leader strategy subsidized by Costco's high-margin membership fees—generating over $4.5 billion annually—and robust same-store sales growth amid resilient consumer spending. Trader consensus views the food court draw as integral to foot traffic and retention, with no recent cost pressures overriding precedent. Realistic challenges include post-Vachris leadership transition, unforeseen commodity inflation spikes, or earnings misses prompting margin reevaluation ahead of fiscal 2027.

Costco aumenta il prezzo dell'hot dog prima del 2027?
This market will resolve to "Yes" if the price of a standard Costco hot dog and 20 oz soda combo before tax exceeds $1.50 in any Costco store in the United States by December 31, 2026, 11:59PM ET. Otherwise this market will resolve to "No".
If Costco announces they will increase the price, this market will resolve to "Yes" regardless of whether that change is actually implemented.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from Costco, however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
