Chiang Wan-an holds a commanding position in the Taipei mayoral race due to his incumbency as the Kuomintang nominee and consistent leads in recent polls against Democratic Progressive Party candidate Puma Shen. Taipei’s historical preference for KMT candidates, combined with opposition coordination between the KMT and Taiwan People’s Party, has consolidated support ahead of the November 28 vote. Recent activity by Chiang on national issues has reinforced his visibility without evident erosion of local backing. Trader consensus at 91% reflects these structural advantages and polling margins, though outcomes could shift with major late developments, turnout changes among key voting blocs, or unexpected national events in the final months.
