**Forecast models indicate the overnight low in New York City on September 2 will likely settle in the low 70s°F amid persistent warm, humid air and a 60% chance of showers or thunderstorms.** This reflects a stable subtropical air mass with dew points near 70°F and light southeast winds, suppressing radiative cooling and keeping minimum temperatures elevated compared to early-September climatology (around 67°F). Ensemble guidance from sources like the National Weather Service shows limited model spread for this 48-hour window, with no strong cold front or clear-sky conditions expected to drive sharper drops. Trader consensus across the evenly matched bins reflects this narrow uncertainty range and the high sensitivity of overnight lows to even modest changes in cloud cover or precipitation timing.
