Recent National Weather Service and NOAA guidance shows Seattle under mostly sunny conditions on August 31 with highs near 70°F and light northerly winds, favoring radiational cooling overnight under limited cloud cover. Model consensus points to a minimum temperature in the mid-50s, aligning with climatological norms for late August where average lows hover near 55–56°F. Trader sentiment clusters tightly around the 54–57°F bins because small differences in forecast dew points, boundary-layer mixing, and exact clearing timing can shift the overnight low across adjacent 2°F ranges, while lower-probability outcomes reflect tail risks from unexpected marine stratus or warmer advection. Updated model runs and NWS briefings through the weekend remain the key near-term catalysts.
