Incumbent Democratic Rep. Emilia Sykes secured her party's nomination unopposed in the May 2026 primary for Ohio's 13th congressional district, while Republican Carey Coleman emerged as the GOP nominee from a contested field. The seat's positioning stems primarily from the October 2025 congressional map redrawn by the state's redistricting commission, which strengthened the Democratic tilt in the Akron-centered district encompassing Summit County and portions of Portage and Stark counties. Nonpartisan forecasters rate the race as Likely or Solid Democratic, reflecting the incumbent's prior narrow general-election victory, the district's underlying partisan composition, and limited Republican momentum in this cycle. Traders appear to price in these structural factors alongside the absence of major recent developments that would alter the competitive landscape ahead of the November 2026 general election.
