Ongoing vote tally by Peru's National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) at over 92% shows Keiko Fujimori securely in first place with around 17%, while leftist Roberto Sánchez Palomino holds a narrow lead over conservative Rafael López Aliaga for second—11.98% to 11.92%, a gap of under 10,000 votes. Recent influx of rural ballots from Sánchez strongholds like Cusco, Loreto, and Cajamarca since April 14 has flipped the order from Aliaga's early urban Lima advantage, driving trader consensus to price López Aliaga at 64% for third place and Sánchez at 35% amid a fragmented field of over 35 candidates. Remaining actas, including foreign votes, and potential JNE challenges could still tip the runoff matchup set for June 7.
