Official ONPE tallies from Peru's April 12-13 presidential first-round election, now at over 91% of acts processed, show Keiko Fujimori leading with approximately 17% of valid votes amid a fragmented field of 35 candidates, comfortably ahead of Roberto Sánchez Palomino (12%) and Rafael López Aliaga (12%), positioning her for the June 7 runoff. Logistical delays in ballot delivery extended voting but have not disrupted the count, with EU observers confirming no irregularities despite unsubstantiated fraud claims from trailing contenders. Trader consensus at 99% implied probability reflects Fujimori's insurmountable lead, as remaining rural and overseas votes are unlikely to close the gap; only a successful legal challenge or massive recount discrepancies could realistically shift the first-round plurality outcome.
