Recent polls ahead of New Zealand’s November 7, 2026 general election show Labour consistently leading National in party vote, often by several points, while the incumbent National-led coalition maintains a narrow projected seat majority. National’s support has fallen to multi-year lows amid economic pressures, boosting Labour’s position as the largest single party. This dynamic keeps National the market favorite for second place at 60.5 percent implied probability, with Labour close behind at 40 percent. Smaller parties such as New Zealand First, the Greens, and ACT remain well behind on current trends. The race remains sensitive to further polling shifts and the formal campaign period that begins in early August.
