Iowa's 3rd Congressional District features a rematch between Republican incumbent Zach Nunn, who won narrowly in 2024, and Democratic state Sen. Sarah Trone Garriott. Both candidates secured their party nominations unopposed in the June 2026 primaries in this Des Moines-centered suburban and rural swing seat rated Lean Republican or Toss Up by analysts. Trader consensus favoring Democrats at 66.5% reflects broader 2026 midterm dynamics, including national generic ballot leads for Democrats and headwinds for the president's party in competitive districts. A March 2026 poll showed Nunn ahead by six points, while fundraising, candidate recruitment, and suburban voter trends continue to shape positioning ahead of the November general election. A Libertarian candidate is also on the ballot but draws limited support.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
