Recent National Weather Service forecasts for New York City on September 9 point to a daytime high in the mid-80s, supported by southwest winds of 10-15 mph with gusts to 25 mph and partly cloudy skies that allow moderate solar heating. Official guidance from Central Park and area airports clusters around 84-87°F, reflecting typical September variability where afternoon cloud build-up or earlier clearing can shift the peak by a degree or two. With market-implied odds nearly even between the 82-83°F and 84-85°F bins, traders are pricing the genuine uncertainty in short-term model runs and boundary-layer mixing, while lower-probability outcomes above 86°F or below 82°F remain sidelined absent major forecast revisions before official observations finalize.
