Incumbent Democratic Governor Ned Lamont secured his party's nomination in the August 11, 2026 primary and maintains double-digit leads over Republican nominee Ryan Fazio in recent polling averages around 51-52% to 33-37%. Connecticut's consistent Democratic lean, combined with Lamont's established record and voter familiarity as a two-term incumbent, underpins the strong trader consensus reflected in current market pricing. Fazio's campaign has not yet produced measurable shifts in these fundamentals. Potential developments that could narrow the gap include major late-campaign events, significant polling volatility closer to November 3, or unexpected shifts in turnout among key voting blocs, though such factors remain secondary to the established structural and survey advantages.

Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party.
The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on the official certification.
