Current National Weather Service and model guidance point to an overnight low in the low 70s for New York City on August 16, driven by a warm, humid maritime air mass with light northeast winds and partial cloud cover that limits radiational cooling. Recent forecasts show highs near 82–84 °F on the 16th and morning minima around 70–72 °F, consistent with climatological August norms and the absence of any strong cold front or clear-sky conditions that would allow deeper drops. Trader consensus clusters in the 70–73 °F bins because ensemble runs remain stable with only modest spread, while lower or higher outliers would require unexpected shifts in steering flow or dew-point advection not currently indicated.
