Incumbent Democrat Katie Hobbs, who faced no primary opposition, and Republican nominee Andy Biggs, who secured his party's nod in the July 21 primary, both sit near even odds as the general election approaches on November 3. Key dynamics include Maricopa's mix of suburban Phoenix voters, strong turnout patterns in prior cycles, and policy contrasts on border security, taxes, and education that have kept the race competitive. Hobbs's selection of former Republican Mesa Mayor John Giles as running mate and Biggs's pairing with conservative Sine Kerr underscore efforts to broaden coalitions. Scheduled debates, fall polling shifts in the Phoenix metro area, and any late developments on economic conditions or voter mobilization could widen margins before election night.
