Persistent marine layer clouds and light onshore flow are suppressing daytime heating in San Francisco ahead of September 3, with official forecasts from the National Weather Service and others calling for mostly cloudy skies, a chance of drizzle, and highs mainly in the mid- to upper 60s. This pattern is atypical for early September, when the marine layer usually thins and allows seasonal warming toward the long-term average high near 70°F. Trader consensus clusters on 68–71°F because model runs show only modest afternoon clearing potential under southwesterly winds, while stronger or more persistent stratus would cap readings at 66–67°F and any offshore shift could briefly reach the low 70s. Resolution hinges on the precise depth of the inversion and solar insolation through broken cloud cover on the day itself.
