Recent National Weather Service and model guidance point to overnight lows in the lower-to-mid 60s for Los Angeles on September 3, consistent with the seasonal average of 64.6 °F, as a moderate marine layer with morning coastal stratus gives way to daytime clearing. Trader consensus remains dispersed because small differences in marine-layer depth, inversion strength, and onshore flow can shift the minimum by several degrees; stronger northwest winds or a deeper inversion would favor readings near or below 60 °F, while weaker flow or Santa Ana influence could push the low above 70 °F. Historical records show September 3 extremes ranging from 54 °F to the upper 70s, underscoring how local sea-surface temperatures and pressure gradients create genuine forecast spread even 24–48 hours ahead.
