Recent National Weather Service and model guidance indicate a daily minimum near 57–59°F for San Francisco on September 24, driven by moderate onshore flow and a strengthening marine layer that limits nocturnal cooling. Persistent stratus and fog typical of late September keep the diurnal range narrow, with historical September lows averaging 55–56°F at official stations. Trader emphasis on the 56–57°F bin reflects this baseline while the sizable probabilities on 68°F+ and 49°F or below capture uncertainty in exact marine-layer depth, wind timing, and localized urban heat-island effects that can shift the recorded minimum by 2–4°F. Updated short-range model runs and evening NWS briefings will refine the precise threshold before resolution.
