Eli Savit secured the Democratic nomination at the August 2026 convention after prevailing over other contenders, positioning him as the frontrunner in the open-seat Michigan Attorney General race against Republican nominee Doug Lloyd. Recent statewide polling trends favoring Democratic candidates in parallel 2026 contests, including the governor and Senate races, have reinforced trader expectations of a favorable environment for Savit. Minor-party candidates and write-ins register negligible support. A July campaign finance inquiry into Savit’s use of county resources remains under informal review without altering the general election timeline ahead of November 3. These factors align with the current market pricing of Savit well ahead of Lloyd.
