Michigan voters face an automatic ballot question on November 3, 2026, asking whether to convene a constitutional convention to draft a general revision of the 1963 state constitution. Trader consensus favoring rejection stems from repeated historical defeats in 1978, 1994, and 2010, combined with bipartisan opposition from labor, education, and other organized groups concerned about potential impacts on existing provisions. Limited advocacy for the measure and a recent poll showing substantial undecided voters further reinforce expectations that the status quo will hold. Scenarios that could still shift odds include late-cycle developments raising visibility or altering voter perceptions of risks, though the automatic placement and procedural timeline limit such opportunities before election day.
