Therese Terlaje secured the Democratic nomination in the August 1 primary with a narrow 47.8% victory over Lt. Gov. Joshua Tenorio, positioning her ticket against Republican Vicente Ada, who won his party's primary by a wider 60.5% margin. With the open-seat general election set for November 3 following term limits on the incumbent, trader pricing reflects Terlaje's legislative experience and party infrastructure as factors supporting her lead in the two-candidate contest. Recent candidate forums have highlighted shared priorities on economic development, childcare costs, and public health, though no major shifts in positioning have emerged since primary certification. The market's implied probabilities align with historical patterns in Guam territorial races where Democratic nominees often hold an edge in general elections.
