Recent National Weather Service guidance and ensemble model runs indicate a high near 100°F for Austin on August 28, with most forecasts clustering between 98–101°F under mostly sunny skies, light easterly winds, and minimal cloud cover after morning clearing. Persistent high pressure and southerly flow favor strong daytime heating with dew points near 65–70°F, though limited moisture should suppress widespread convection. This consensus aligns with the market’s heaviest trading on the 100–101°F bin, followed by 98–99°F, while lower probabilities on 102°F+ reflect the modest risk of slightly stronger subsidence or clearer conditions. Historical late-August averages near 95°F provide context for the elevated readings amid the current heat wave. Updated NWS briefings tomorrow morning will offer the final observational inputs ahead of market resolution.
