Recent National Weather Service and private model consensus points to a high near 97°F in Austin on September 23 under partly cloudy skies with minimal precipitation risk and light easterly flow. This late-summer pattern features above-average warmth driven by persistent high pressure and strong September insolation, exceeding the 1991–2020 climatological mean of roughly 89°F. Small differences among leading market bins hinge on afternoon cloud timing, boundary-layer mixing depth, and any weak frontal moisture that could trim peak readings by 1–3°F or allow brief clearing to push temperatures slightly higher. Updated model runs and National Weather Service briefings over the next 48 hours will refine these variables ahead of market resolution.
