Persistent high pressure centered east of the Mississippi River is driving above-normal temperatures across Atlanta through midweek, with National Weather Service guidance and multiple model runs projecting a September 3 high near 94–98°F under mostly sunny skies, light southeast winds, and minimal cloud cover. This setup favors strong daytime heating and subsidence warming, pushing values well above the 86°F climatological average while keeping precipitation chances near zero. Trader consensus reflected in the 40% probability for 96–97°F and 29.5% for 98–99°F aligns closely with the latest deterministic forecasts, though slight model spread around peak heating and boundary-layer moisture keeps the 94–95°F bin at 25.5%. Updated National Weather Service briefings and afternoon model runs on September 2 will provide the next key data points before market resolution.
