This followed a record-shattering March averaging 51.6°F—10°F above 1991-2020 normals—amid a pattern shift introducing cooler mid-level air and light upslope flow, as forecast by National Weather Service models. No precipitation fell until trace light rain post-6 PM, keeping daytime heating suppressed. Realistic challenges include rare post-preliminary data revisions from automated surface observing system quality control, though official CLI reports validate the reading; resolution hinges on finalized KDEN maximum.
