Trader consensus on Polymarket prices the $2.25–2.50/dozen bin for the U.S. national average retail price of eggs in April 2026 at a 61.5% implied probability, reflecting BLS March data at $2.35/dozen—down from $2.50 in February amid recovering layer flocks following highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) containment. USDA's April 10 Egg Markets Overview reported wholesale loose large shell eggs falling to $0.21/dozen nationally, with moderate-to-heavy supplies and weak undertones driving further downside pressure, though retail lags wholesale adjustments. Recent biosecurity gains and fewer outbreaks since early 2026 have boosted supply, easing prices 57% year-over-year; traders eye BLS April CPI release on May 12 for final resolution amid stable demand.
