Prices shown on any individual prediction market will not be considered.Democrats hold a near-certain edge in the race for House control heading into the November 2026 midterms, reflecting trader consensus on structural and polling advantages. As the out-of-power party during a Republican presidency, Democrats benefit from the consistent historical pattern in which the president's party loses seats in midterm elections. Recent generic congressional ballot surveys show Democrats ahead by roughly eight to nine points, consistent with models projecting a median gain of 25 or more seats for the minority party. Redistricting has provided Republicans some cushion in targeted states, yet the national environment and limited number of true toss-ups have kept most forecasts in the 92-99% range for Democratic majorities. Late shifts in voter turnout, sustained changes to the generic ballot, or unexpected developments in the remaining competitive districts represent the main variables that could still alter the outcome before Election Day.
