Persistent northeast monsoon flow and widespread cloud cover with light rain are limiting overnight radiative cooling across Shanghai's subtropical urban heat island on September 3, anchoring the minimum near 27 °C according to consensus model guidance. Dew points near 24–25 °C and moderate winds of 10–15 km/h further suppress the typical 5–7 °C diurnal drop, consistent with late-summer climatology when the East Asian monsoon lingers. Official forecasts from multiple agencies cluster overnight lows at 26–27 °C, supporting the market's heavy weighting toward 27 °C while leaving modest probability for a slightly cooler 26 °C reading if clearing occurs after midnight.
