Former President Rumen Radev dominates trader consensus at 83% implied probability to become Bulgaria's next prime minister, driven by his newly formed Progressive Bulgaria alliance leading polls at around 33% ahead of the April 19 snap parliamentary election—its eighth in five years. Radev resigned the presidency in early 2026 to run on an anti-oligarchy platform, capitalizing on public frustration with instability, while GERB leader Boyko Borissov trails at 4% odds amid declining support. Caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov, appointed in February by President Iliana Iotova, recently vowed the cleanest elections yet, but his 1% odds reflect low expectations for a lasting government. Post-election, Iotova will issue up to three government-forming mandates to the largest parliamentary formations, with Radev best positioned if his coalition secures the most seats.
