The redrawn boundaries of Texas's 35th congressional district, adjusted in 2025 following requests from the Trump administration, have shifted the seat from a Democratic stronghold into a more competitive contest for the November 2026 general election. With incumbent Greg Casar pursuing another district, Democratic nominee Johnny Garcia and Republican nominee Carlos De La Cruz, both confirmed after May primary runoffs, now face off in a race where traders assign the Democratic Party a modest edge at 55.5 percent versus 43.5 percent for Republicans. This pricing reflects the district's urban and suburban demographics alongside the impact of redistricting on voter composition and turnout patterns. No major developments have emerged in recent weeks to alter positioning, leaving the outcome sensitive to broader midterm dynamics and voter mobilization efforts through election day.
