**Raphaël Glucksmann of Place Publique holds the strongest position among declared candidates in the two-round electronic primary scheduled for 9–10 and 16–17 October 2026.** Multiple Socialist Party figures, including first secretary Olivier Faure, along with Philippe Brun, Jérôme Guedj, Ségolène Royal, Emmanuel Maurel, and others, have entered the race following the August agreement on closed voting rules limited to party members and fee-paying sympathizers. Recent reporting highlights Glucksmann as the early frontrunner, with internal divisions and last-minute debates over additional candidacies such as François Ruffin adding uncertainty. The modest 55% trader consensus on an outright first-round majority reflects the competitive field and limited public polling on primary voter preferences, where a fragmented vote could force a runoff between the top two contenders.
