Recent polling and race ratings have positioned Democrat Rebecca Bennett as the clear frontrunner in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District, with a September survey showing her ahead 47% to 42% and outlets such as Sabato’s Crystal Ball and Decision Desk HQ moving the contest to Lean or Likely Democratic. Key factors include incumbent Thomas Kean Jr.’s extended medical absence earlier in the year, which contributed to unfavorable voter ratings, and the New Jersey State Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association’s September 17 endorsement flip to Bennett after previously backing Kean. The district’s narrow 2024 presidential margin and voter concerns over costs, healthcare access, and the ongoing Iran conflict have further shaped trader assessments of Bennett’s path to victory in the November general election.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
