Recent National Weather Service and private model guidance positions Austin's September 6 high near 97–98°F under partly cloudy skies, light southeast winds, and only a 20% chance of afternoon storms. These conditions favor strong solar heating while limiting cloud cover or widespread rain that could suppress temperatures. The forecast exceeds the 1991–2020 average high of 93.4°F, consistent with an ongoing late-summer warm pattern across central Texas. Trader consensus reflects this narrow range, with the 96–97°F bin leading at 41% implied probability; upside to 100°F+ remains limited by modest moisture and model agreement, while downside below 94°F would require unexpected early convection or thicker cloud cover not currently indicated. Updated NWS runs and heat-index guidance through the weekend represent the next key data points.
