Traders see the highest temperature in Helsinki on August 17 clustering tightly around 20–21 °C because official Finnish Meteorological Institute model guidance currently peaks at 21 °C under a mild southwesterly flow and modest Baltic Sea warming. Long-range climatology places the mid-August normal near 20 °C, while AccuWeather’s August outlook shows daily maxima between 17–21 °C. Small differences in forecasted cloud cover, boundary-layer mixing, or a slight shift in the 500 hPa ridge can easily tip the daily maximum by 1 °C, keeping the two leading outcomes nearly even. Updated runs from FMI and ECMWF over the next 24–48 hours will provide the clearest signal ahead of resolution.
