This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed city records measurable precipitation on August 10. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". Measurable precipitation means 0.01 inches or more as reported by the Weather Underground station page for the city. A report of trace ("T") does not qualify. Resolution is based on the station's first published precipitation figure for the day. Subsequent revisions or corrections to the published data will not be considered; the first published value is final. If no figure has been published by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to "No".Current NOAA short-range models highlight atmospheric steering patterns and moisture transport as the dominant drivers behind trader consensus on rain locations for August 10, with enhanced Southwest monsoon activity favoring above-normal precipitation odds across the Great Basin, Four Corners, and Rockies. El Niño conditions are supporting this setup, consistent with historical analogs showing increased thunderstorm frequency in those areas during early August. Elsewhere, scattered convective storms remain possible in the Midwest and Northeast per 6-10 day precipitation outlooks, though model runs indicate lower confidence and shifting boundaries. Key resolution thresholds depend on measurable precipitation at specific sites, with traders monitoring daily NWS and CPC updates through the weekend for refinements ahead of the target date.
