New York’s 6th Congressional District in central and eastern Queens carries a Cook Partisan Voter Index of D+6 and has been rated Solid Democratic or Safe Democratic by major forecasters for the 2026 cycle. Incumbent Grace Meng, first elected in 2012, benefits from established name recognition, fundraising strength, and the absence of competitive Republican opposition beyond nominee Joseph Chou. The upcoming June 23 Democratic primary between Meng and challenger Chuck Park is unlikely to alter the general-election trajectory given the district’s voter base. Trader consensus at 93.5% for a Democratic winner reflects these structural advantages, though late-cycle national shifts, candidate health or ethics developments, or unusually low Democratic turnout could still narrow the margin.
