TX-35 is an open San Antonio-area seat following redistricting and the departure of its prior Democratic incumbent. The race features Democrat Johnny Garcia, a Bexar County sheriff’s deputy emphasizing law-and-order themes, against Republican Carlos De La Cruz, an Air Force veteran and brother of a sitting House member. Recent polling from June–July 2026 shows the contest remaining highly competitive, with Democratic support in the low-to-mid 40s to low 50s and Republicans close behind. The district’s R+4 partisan voting index and 2024 presidential results create structural advantages for Republicans, yet its Hispanic-majority composition and evidence of shifting voter patterns sustain Democratic viability. Trader consensus reflects the narrow margin typical of battleground House districts three months before Election Day, where turnout, outside spending, and national conditions could quickly widen the gap.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
