Recent observational data shows cooling from early April's heatwave highs above 35°C (peaking 35.5°C on April 10) to 31.5°C on April 15, reflecting increased cloudiness and sea breezes moderating coastal conditions. Key differentiators include storm timing—delayed convection favors 34–35°C via prolonged solar heating, while earlier showers align with 32°C—and urban heat island amplification in Lagos. Model consensus (GFS, ECMWF) remains uncertain; NiMet updates due April 17 could shift probabilities.
