**Trader consensus centers on 78–81°F as the highest temperature in NYC on August 29, 2026, with the 78–79°F bin holding 59% implied probability.** Official National Weather Service and NOAA forecasts describe sunny skies under a high-pressure ridge, with light north-to-northwest winds of 5–10 mph limiting mixing and keeping dew points in the low-to-mid 50s for efficient daytime heating. This setup aligns with late-August climatology for the region, where Central Park and LaGuardia typically reach seasonal peaks near 82°F but can fall short under drier, breezy northerly flow. Hourly guidance shows readings climbing through the mid-70s by midday and peaking in the upper 70s to low 80s by mid-afternoon before cooling, with negligible precipitation risk and heat indices near actual air temperatures. The market’s modest tilt toward the lower bins reflects uncertainty in the precise maximum amid minor model spread and potential for slightly cooler urban canyon effects at the official station. No major atmospheric shifts or data revisions have altered the outlook in the past 24 hours.
