Incumbent Republican Trent Kelly seeks reelection in Mississippi's 1st congressional district, a northeastern area rated Solid Republican by Cook Political Report, Decision Desk HQ, Inside Elections, and Sabato's Crystal Ball, with a Partisan Voter Index of R+18. Kelly advanced unopposed in the March Republican primary, while Democrat Cliff Johnson secured his party's nomination after defeating Kelvin Buck. This structural edge, reinforced by the district's consistent Republican performance in recent cycles and limited competitive polling, drives the market's 94.5% Republican consensus three months before the November 3 general election. A national Democratic wave, incumbent scandal, or exceptional challenger mobilization could narrow the margin, though such developments have rarely altered outcomes in this safely Republican seat.

A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
