Persistent high pressure and northeast winds are sustaining above-normal warmth across Houston, with National Weather Service forecasts pointing to a Thursday night low near 76°F amid mostly clear to partly cloudy skies. Recent climatological data show September 2026 lows averaging 3–5°F above the 1991–2020 baseline of roughly 70–72°F, driven by a stalled pattern that has kept dew points elevated until the current drier air intrusion. Model consensus from the National Blend of Models and local guidance supports a minimum in the mid- to upper-70s, yet variability in boundary-layer mixing and any overnight cloud cover could push readings into the low 70s or hold them near 78–79°F. Traders are weighting these factors against historical September minima, with resolution hinging on official NWS observations for the 24-hour period ending at midnight.
